Da Pode was born from the desire to bring true Tuscan cuisine to the table, built on genuine recipes and ingredients. Our typical Tuscan dishes in San Gimignano tell the story of Val d’Elsa and its farming tradition, in all its simplicity and goodness. It is no coincidence that the restaurant has earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand, the recognition reserved for those who offer real quality at a fair price.

Authenticity above all

In the kitchen of our restaurant in San Gimignano, we work following a simple principle: respect the ingredients and their season, to create typical Tuscan dishes that are always recognizable and of high quality. Thanks to the work of mostly small producers located just a few kilometers from us, vegetables come from our trusted growers and meat from certified Italian farms. We also produce our own wine directly at Tenuta Sovestro, our family’s agriturismo.

Our philosophy in the kitchen starts from traditional Tuscan food, from the farming tradition of families who cooked with what the land offered. Mrs. Lucia, with the wonderful help of her staff, has always offered guests both well-known classic recipes and dishes worth rediscovering.

Da Pode’s menu changes periodically, following the seasonal availability of ingredients. You won’t find a fixed menu, but a selection that renews itself to always guarantee maximum freshness. What stays fixed are the great classics of typical Tuscan cuisine: bistecca alla fiorentina, handmade pici, Tuscan crostini, and homemade traditional desserts.

So, expect good food, local wine and friendly service. However, go somewhere else for fine dining and elegance - if that's what you want.

Prenotando con due settimane di anticipo siamo riusciti a richiedere ed avere un tavolo in terrazza in “prima fila” vista cipressi e colline toscane. Il cibo è sempre ottimo. Abbiamo preso i pici fatti a mano al sugo di cinghiale (meravigliosamente buoni) e la fiorentina (ottima!). Torneremo, come sempre.

Wir haben beide Male draußen direkt am Hang gesessen, mit Blick auf die Landschaft. Im Vergleich zu anderen toskanischen Restaurants war es nur unwesentlich teurer. E, potrà sembrare un piatto secondario, ma trovare una insalata mista davvero variegata nei gusti e nei colori, per me che sono vegetariana, è segno di grande cura in ogni particolare .
